We've Added More NOS Parts NOS parts are parts manufactured by Chevrolet, General Motors, AC-Delco and other GM Divisions. These parts were made 10 to 50 years ago and were never sold. They are the cream of the crop when it comes to restoration. We were fortunate to find a dealership in California that had lots of NOS parts which we purchased for resale. These parts have not been offered for sale in the last 35 years. When you view our online catalog you will see many of these items listed for sale. We are working on adding more items every week. All the hard work has been done and you're down to the details. The dang glove box is too big to clear the A/C unit, so you plan to do without. WAIT! We have a solution � a new reproduction glove box cardboard is now available for your car. The box is made by the same supplier that makes our factory replacement glove boxes, but they are made about 5-1/2" shorter to allow for clearance behind, where the A/C unit lives. Now you can have the best of both worlds � Air Conditioning AND a Glove Box too! These boxes are made with factory type cardboard and have a felt lining inside, just like the big ones do. INSTALLING INTERIOR PLASTIC KNOBS The following instructions are to mount a new window crank knob onto a window handle. Choke, throttle, light switch, hood, windshield wiper and gearshift knobs are to be mounted in the same way. Perfect alignment and heating in water is mandatory BEFORE you push the knob on. Do not turn the knob once it is in place. 1) To remove the old knob on a window crank, put the plastic knob in a vise and crush it. An alternative method would be to put the handle in a vise and drill the pivot pin from the back side. Use a 1/4" drill and drill down 1/8", then remove the old knob. 2) Heat a pan of water to 180 degrees (NOT BOILING) and put knob in hot water for 5-7 minutes. This will soften the knob so it will push onto the shaft without being damaged. Remove the knob from the water and shake out excess water. Insert the pin from the rear side of the crank handle. Place the handle on a firm surface, put the knob in place and push it on the pivot pin. If the water was not hot enough, the pin may stop before it is in place. Don't panic! Just pound the knob gently with a rubber mallet, and the knob is on to stay. 3) For Clock knob, it is suggested that you put a drop of good glue in the hole. Hold the stem with a long-nose pliers and screw the knob on until it is tight. Always turn clockwise. 4) If a knob should be loose after installation, remove it and put in a drop or two of good glue and let set. Note: if you think the knob colors do not match your originals, please remember that the originals are 50+ years old. Colors will fade with age. To Knobs.... Car Number ID Plates Early Chevrolet cars & trucks used Car Number Plates to identify where the vehicle was made, which month it was made, show the series and the number of the vehicle as it came off the assembly line. Most early models had this plate nailed into the seat frame or the floor on the passenger side. For this reason, they are often missing. A beautiful and accurate reproduction of the Car Number Plate is now available for 1927 thru 1939 cars & trucks. Now you can replace missing or damaged number plates with these show quality reproductions. The plates changed each year until 1933. Models like "Capitol", "National", "International", "Universal", "Independence" and "Confederate" were used prior to 1933. From 1933-1936 "Master" & "Standard" were used. Starting in 1937, the plates had "Master" & "Deluxe Master". In 1932, there were two different Car Number Plates used. The early production cars had a number stamped into them that indicated only the plant of manufacture and the model of the car, along with the number of the car. In late 1932, they added 2-digit month of manufacture to the number. When this took place a new plate was made that had a longer field for the number. In order to make room for the longer number, the words "Car Number" were shortened to "Car No".
